built to rally - introducing the levo r
We are super excited to introduce you to the newest member of the Levo family, the Levo R. This is a bike we are particularly excited about because Ryan Gurr, the owner of Red Rock Bicycle, has been asking for this particular platform for several years. To see Specialized bring it to fruition is pretty rad.
So what is it, well it's the rally car of eBikes. The Levo R was designed around the idea of going from Point A to Point B as quickly and efficiently as possible. Specialized took the Levo motor and battery system and built a dedicated 29er chassis that is 530 grams lighter than the Levo 4.
big power for big rides
The Levo R shares a lot of the same DNA as the Levo 4, but has some specific difference. Let's jump into what they share and then we'll get to what is new.
The Levo R shares the exact same motor and modular batteries as the Levo 4. This means you are getting 850 Peak Watts and 111 NM of torque with the S-Works motor or 810 Watts and 105 NM for all other models. This is paired to the same 840 WH battery that comes stock on the Levo 4. Giving you plenty of range. The Levo R is also compatible with the 600 WH and the 280 WH range extender.
carry your trail essentials
Specialized kept the eSWAT meaning you have downtube storage above the battery for your trail essentials. You will also find the AXS extension cord powering the Transmission drivetrain. The Levo r also includes the Genie shock, just will a little less travel. You will also find all of the frame adjustments, headset, chainstay, and bottom bracket height.
dedicated 29er chassis
So what's new? To start out, the Levo R is built on a dedicated 29er chassis. This is not the same frame as the Levo 4. It is 530 grams lighter featuring 130mm of rear wheel travel mated to 140 mm of front travel. The chassis puts the rider in a lower, more efficient stance positioning the rider forward for balance and control. This supports climbing speed and agile descending.
The parts spec is also different balancing lighter weight parts and durability. On the S-Works model you will find a complete XX AXS Transmission drivetrain powered by the main battery. Roval Traverse SL II hoops on I9 hubs keep you rolling fast and efficiently. Sram's Motive brakes are mounted on a Roval stem/handlebar. The dropper is the new AXS Reverb. Fox Factory components keep you planted with the Genie shock in the rear and a 36 SL up front.
