Three Tips for Taking on Singletrack with your Gravel Bike

Riding singletrack with a gravel bike isn't for everyone, but if the idea intrigues you, here are three tips to get you started:

  1. Ride in the drops

    1. Dropping into the drops in the techy stuff may seem counter intuitive if you come from a mountain bike background, but it will help you access the brakes and brings your center of gravity down and will help you handle the rowdy stuff.

  2. Tire size and pressure

    1. If you wanna get rowdy, max out your tire size. Bigger tires give you more float, traction, and will give you more confidence.

    2. Run lower pressure. It will make your ride more comfortable and helps smooth out the techy stuff.

  3. Get a dropper post!

    1. Nuf said, but a dropper can absolutely change how you ride your gravel bike.
